Birthday Sunflowers

My daughter celebrated her 40th birthday recently.  As her favorite flowers are sunflowers, I created a birthday card filled with sunflower blooms.  I was able to sneak the number 40 in at the bottom of the card!  I found the tutorial for the large square double display card on Pinterest, my favorite go to place for new card ideas!

I used a belly band to keep the card closed.

When the card is opened, it stands up to display the birthday greeting.

Happy Birthday--Variation on a Z-fold Card

I decided to dig into my stash of SU's DSP, and I created a birthday card for one of my friends.  Pinterest has become my "go-to" site for cards with creative folds, and I found several variations on a Z-fold card.

In order to write a birthday greeting, I used SU's Whisper White to create a space for the greeting.  Because of the way the card is folded, the greeting is not visible until the card is unfolded.

It's Time for September Birthdays!

Four of my grandchildren have birthdays in September, so I usually start working on cards
 at the end of August!

For my youngest grandson, I made a "slider" card using some Disney paper and characters.

For my third grandson (of five!), I found some paper with alligators on it and used one of SU's stamps to add the greeting.  I stamped the date of his birthday on the card; when he pulls up the insert, there is a big "Happy Birthday" greeting and space for writing a note.

It's a Z-Card Anniversary!

My daughter and her husband recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make a different type of "fancy fold" card, so I checked Pinterest for some ideas and found a unique Z-fold card.  Since we were all going to the beach shortly after their anniversary, I used a beach theme and decided that the designer paper was colorful enough so I did not have to do any stamping!

Here is a photo of the closed card:

Here is a photo of the card showing the inside.  I included some blank card stock so I could write a note!

Birthday Balloons!

My daughter's birthday was on March 1, and I thought a "box of balloons" was an appropriate card!  I saw this card idea on Pinterest, and I knew I had to try it!

Can't Make Up My Mind…Christmas Card Dilemma

This year, because one of the dies I ordered didn't come until three days before Christmas, I ended up making two cards.  I hope the post office and Santa can get them all there before Christmas!

We have the blue, blue Christmas card above!

Here's a variation…the "Merry Christmas" die finally arrived!

Hello Kitty! Happy Birthday!

My granddaughter is turning four and is a big fan of Hello Kitty!  I found a digi image of Hello Kitty and to add an element of surprise, I made a pop-up birthday cake on the inside of the card.

Big Top Birthday

Update:  My card was a Top 5 Pick in QKR Stampede Challenge #57--Flying High with Balloons.

In September I have to make birthday cards for four of my grandchildren.  I went to a circus with one of my grandsons, so I thought a "big top" card would be perfect for his birthday!  I added some balloons and sparkly "stars" as embellishments.

Have a Ball on Your First Birthday!

Update:  This card was one of the "Top Fivers" in Eclectic Ellapu's "For A Boy" challenge.

My grandson loves playing with balls, so I thought I would design a card that featured balls for his first birthday.  I used a variety of balls that I found on the Internet as well as some embellishments.  He really enjoyed his card, and his mother used it as the centerpiece for his birthday celebration!
