Lego Birthday Card

My grandson just turned 10, and he and his family are going to Legoland in Florida.  What could be better than a Lego birthday card!  The card is 4.25" x 4.25" because I used paper "bricks" that were 1" x 1" and 1" x 2" so I would have a small border around the "bricks." I first glued all of the pieces on the card, including the "Wish Big" sentiment.  Then  I used a paper punch to punch out circles and glued them on the "bricks."  Needless to say, the card was a big hit with my grandson!

Baseball Birthday Card

My oldest grandson, who is turning 14, loves baseball, so I thought I'd create a birthday card using some baseball paper I had in my stash.  I found a "fun fold flap card" on Dawn Griffith's blog and I used "Happy Birthday Gorgeous," a new Stampin' Up bundle, for the die cut and stamps.

When the "Happy Birthday" flap is lifted, the "Make A Wish" message appears.  On the inside of the card, I used the "It's Your Day" stamp.  I also made a small envelope for the gift of money that I am sending him.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

A Sparkling Sweet 16 Birthday Card

My granddaughter recently turned 16.  She loves a lot of sparkle and the color purple, so I created a birthday card using her favorite things.  Inside I taped a small envelope so I could put a gift of money inside the envelope.  She liked the card and, of course, the gift of money!

Butterfly Birthday Card

My daughter's favorite color is yellow, so when her birthday came, I used bright yellow as the background for her birthday card.  The butterfly is Darla and Vivienne from Memory Box, and the floral background is Detailed Floral Thinlits from Stampin' Up.

Floral Thinlit Sympathy Card

I find sympathy cards are often difficult to make, as I do not want the card's design to overshadow the message it is conveying.  I found that SU's Floral Thinlit dies make perfect sympathy cards--the card is beautiful, but it is not overwhelmed by "more is more" as it stands on its own.

Christmas 2016

For my 2016 Christmas card, I used a soft blue as the background and embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder.  I added a Memory Box die cut of snowflakes and stamped Merry Christmas using silver ink.  A blue ribbon finished the front.
